Can you has the system us only on item description?  ie the on in I/C items.

Right now, if we want to change item descriptions we have to change it in I/C Items and IC Items Pricing.

I'm not clear as to what you're asking.  Do you mean you want to find items in for transactions in IC/OE/PO using only the item description?

No, what she's saying is that "Item descriptions"  need to be changed both in the price list and the regular item master.  Other people have complained about this, the only solutions today are export/import, and custom macros.

I'll try and explain it.

We use IC OE PO, upgraded from Accpac Plus.  Now we find we want to change the items descriptions that are more apt to the search in Sage ERP.  There is an item description on the items screen IC1110.  This description is used in IC and PO, but in OE the description that is used is the item description from Item Pricing IC1660.  Therefore, inorder to change the description, we have to change it in both screens.  Too much time. 

My question is, can you set the system up so that either you use one description (the one in the items screen) or that when you change the description at the item screen, it will update the description in the item description in item pricing.

No, there is no way to tell the system to use one or the other or to have it automatically change both descriptions.  However, a macro can do this fairly quickly.  Ask you business partner to create one for you.  If they cannot, have them contact me as I have written several macros like this.

Your business partner should be able to create something for you.  Like them, this is also how I make my living, customizing reports and macros for use within Accpac.  Like Jay, those of us who share info or point you in the right direction, do so for free in the spirit of a forum, but if actual work is required, it will likely be considered as billable time.
